I hope that this finds you safe and well.
I want to take a moment to follow up with you regarding our plans for Theatre at St. Michael’s this summer. Governor Raimondo announced recently that schools in RI will remain closed for the remainder of the academic year. However, it is still possible that schools and municipalities will be permitted to offer summer camp activities. We are moving forward in the hope that TASM can run as planned, with the full range of sessions offered throughout the summer. I am hoping to see many of you for an exciting and fun-filled summer season!
At the same time, we are planning for a variety of contingencies that may become necessary, if our in-person activities are restricted by the state. These include options such as (1) streaming our performances instead of gathering a live audience, (2) condensing the schedule or limiting the size of sessions (camp with social distancing), and/or (3) offering a series of virtual theatre camps in lieu of in-person sessions. Active planning is underway for these and other options, to ensure we can offer the best and most fulfilling camp activities possible within state guidelines for health and safety.
Please rest assured, TASM will provide an opportunity for you to gather, get creative, and celebrate each other’s talent!
Some specific information for you as we move forward:
As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. Theatre is all about human connection, and I am so grateful for the many bonds that have been forged to create the TASM family. I look forward to creating together again soon.
