Theatre at St. Michael’s invites young performing artists (ages 8-18) to come together with our talented staff to celebrate their theatrical creativity and make lifelong friends. All sessions are led and directed by theatre professionals, and the end-of-session productions are invariably smash hits. Come join us for an amazing summer of theatre!
Given projections for this summer, we anticipate that we will be in a position to offer a full suite of in-person camp sessions for 2021.
2021 sessions include the Original Musical Production, Shakespeare Camp Much Ado About Nothing, and our Teen Shakespeare Intensive (Hamlet) with a new apprentice actor option for a few younger actors. TASM also offers a popular tech program for those young thespians who would rather be behind the scenes, so that campers can get involved in all aspects of making theatre. We are hoping to mount full productions of those shows as in past years, possibly with a limited in-person audience, and definitely with videos that can be shared online with all our families and friends!
At the same time, we are preparing a contingency plan (akin to summer 2020’s restricted pods and online audience), which we can pivot to, if the health and safety situation requires as summer approaches. As always, our first priority is to keep everyone safe and healthy, and we will continue planning the summer camp season with that in mind.
A non-refundable $100 deposit must be paid when registering for a session in order to hold a spot. Full tuition is due June 1st. If payment is not received by this time, the reservation may be cancelled. Once a session is advertised as full, the deposit will not be refunded in any event including withdrawal, absence, or dismissal and no refund of tuition will be made unless the space is subsequently filled. Once a camper has completed the first day of the session, no refunds will be given.
** Due to the evolving situation surrounding COVID-19, we are extending TASM’s cancellation policy this year. In the case of St. Michael’s cancelling any camp session due to the pandemic, families will have the choice of using the credit towards another session of camp (including in 2022) or being reimbursed the full amount (including deposit).
Partial scholarships are available to a limited number of students who demonstrate a financial need. Email the TASM camp director for further information. Application deadline is May 1.
8-15 for Musical and Shakespeare Production, 13-18 for Teen Shakespeare Intensive, 11-12 for Apprentice Actors in Teen Shakespeare Intensive
Lunch & Etc.
Campers should bring their own bag lunch and snack, or may opt to participate in our a la carte lunch program (info to follow upon registration). Please remember that St. Michael’s is a peanut-free campus. Don’t forget sunscreen, a water bottle, and hat / sunglasses / sneakers for outdoor use – especially important this summer, as we will be spending much of our time outdoors!
