ARTS electives: Throughout the student’s middle school experience they are exposed to a variety of performing and visual arts. Student preference weighs into the elective assignments with 7th and 8th graders having their choice of electives. The goal is to encourage students to be on the “growing edge” and challenging themselves to step outside their comfort zone to try something new; gradually leading to immersion in one’s passions.
All students participate in a general art and music class each year. Art classes build design, color sense and an exposure to creating in a wide variety of media. Music classes introduce the foundations of music, moving into an appreciation of different genres and how music is created and made.
