Technology is an important part of the Lower School experience. Technology class meets once a week and is also heavily woven into the curriculum. Our Lower School students have an abundance of technology available to them. 4th Graders are issued an Apple MacBook Air. This is their laptop to use both at school and at home. The laptop is preloaded with today’s most popular software titles, like Adobe’s Creative Suite, and Apple’s iMovie, GarageBand, Pages, Numbers and Keynote. Students in grades 1-3 are issued an Apple iPad. This iPad is managed by the school, and has a collection of apps that is inline with the classroom curriculum.
Lower School Technology class is held in our technology room, where students have access to a green screen, a cart of laptops, and several other pieces of technology equipment (video cameras, etc)
Our Lower School students also have access to our SMS Maker Lab. This room is full of state of the art machines that bring your digital creation to life. We have CNC Machines, seven 3D printers, a vinyl cutter, and a 3D laser cutter just to name a few. All of these machines interface with the software preloaded on the student’s laptop.
