July 1 – July 12 (2 weeks) ~~ Performances July 12 and 13
Theatre at St. Michael’s continues its advanced Shakespeare workshop for experienced actors. Under the direction of camp director Christina Johnston, a limited number of teens will undertake intensive study and production of one of Shakespeare’s early farces, The Comedy of Errors. This fun-filled show is a wild ride through the misadventures of not one but two pairs of twins separated at birth. When they unknowingly arrive in the same town, mistaken identities abound, leading to false accusations of theft, betrayal, madness, and even demonic possession! This rollicking adventure is packed with puns, wordplay and full-out slapstick ridiculousness. The small number of actors in this program ensures a high level of personal interaction with our camp staff. Participants will be involved in all aspects of rehearsal and full production – including training in the craft of acting, character development, text analysis, stage combat, choreography, and special effects.
