Today, you are going to paint your own dinosaurs.

As you start to look for images to go with your project, you need to make sure that everything is Creative Commons Licensed or in the Public Domain.

To find your images, here are some options:

• Flickr
• Wiki Commons
• Fotopedia
• You may use an ADVANCED Google Search, but BE CAREFUL!!!!
  1. Go to Google and choose Images
  2. Click on the blue Advanced Search link next to the search field
  3. Make sure that where it says Usage Rights you choose labeled for reuse with modification

When you document your images, make sure you keep track of the URL, the name of the photo, and the photographer. For example, for this image, you would keep track of the following:

• Title – The Leaning Tower of Pisa
• Photographer – Jordan Miller
• Link – http://openphoto.net/gallery/image.html?image_id=12091

For your script, you are going to use the screenplay template from Pages. It should be saved into your country folder as script.

Here’s what I am looking for:

• Your dialog should be engaging, but not overly cheezy
• You should have a strong introduction to grab your viewer as well as a way to wrap up your video.
• As you take your viewer from place to place, make sure that you have logical transitions. It should me more than just saying, “From here, let’s go see the museum.”
• Make sure that you incorporate some of your target language. The names of places, foods, items, etc. should be in the language. For example, go to the marché and not the market.

For your final pitch to the producers, you also need to include the following:

• The name of your show
• A slug line
• A general description of your show – make sure to highlight any special guests or feature chefs
• Production needs/notes – how are you going to pull off your show? Will you need any additional funds or resources?

Now that you are familiar with your country, how will you tour your guests? As you create this video, think about how you will show someone around your country.

Your storyboards are due on Friday, December 4, at 2:45 pm. Use the storyboard template from Pages, and save it to your country folder as storyboard.

You do not have to write in complete sentences, just map out the order in which your scenes will appear. Make sure you add notes about the types of images/audio that you may need as well as any additional research that you should conduct.

Remember, ALL IMAGES MUST BE CC LICENSED!!!! You also must keep track of your media such that you can post credits at the end of your video. Do NOT focus on media right now, just think about what you need. It is more important to have the skeleton of your storyboard mapped out.
