3rd Grade Scavenger Hunt, Part #2

Now that you know where each item is located, can you find a fact about what it is or why it is important?

To find your facts, we are going to use Grolier for Kids like Mrs. Lux taught us last week. This video will give you a reminder of how to do that.

3rd Grade Imaginary Bird Project

In order to build your imaginary bird,  you are going to complete this workbook. Make sure you follow the directions and work in order.

1. Body – what size will your bird be?

  • Figure out which size your bird should be by using this website.
  • Go to ask.com, search for images of your bird. Remember, you will need a body on which you can add a head.

2. Beaks – what head will your bird have?

  • Use this website to see which types of birds have your beak.
  • Go to ask.com, search for images, and look up the bird with your beak.

3. Wings – find out which types of birds have your wings.

  • The Bird Site will teach you about wings.
  • Then go back to ask.com, search for images

3. Feet – find out which types of birds have your feet and leggs.

  • The Bird Site will teach you about wings.
  • Then go back to ask.com, search for images

3rd Grade State Project

If you are ready to make your map, here’s what you will do.

  1. Go to the Xpedition Atlas and find your state.
  2. Decide whether or not your state is horizontal in shape or vertical.
  3. Open Pages and choose either a horizontal or vertical blank page.
  4. Click the Enlarge GIF button on your map
  5. Drag the larger version onto your pages document
