Harry Potter Magical Engineering Camp and Lego Robotics Camp using WeDo Technology!
Once again, St. Michael’s has teamed up with Play Well TEKnologies to offer two lego camps that are sure to stir the imagination and creativity in our lego community! Campers will use motors, battery packs, gears, pulleys, etc. to create moving machines and vehicles. There will be no programming involved. Please note that these classes fill quickly and you are encouraged to register as early as possible.
Lego – Harry Potter Magical Engineering (for children entering 1st – 4th grade):July 22 – July 26
Master the magic of Harry Potter using LEGO! Build Diagon Alley in preparation for your trip to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Hop on your Broomstick and play Quidditch, duel the evil Lord Voldemort, and hone your magical skills while learning about advanced Muggle (STEM) concepts.No prior experience necessary. The fee is $335.00 for half day and $385.00 for full day.
Lego Robotics using WeDo (entering 2nd – 6th grade) July 15 – July 19
Build and program robots in this introductory Robotics class using the LEGO® WeDo® system. Learn basic programming skills, simple engineering concepts, and the names of robot components. Work in small groups to complete several projects using tilt and motion sensors. This is a great way to prepare young Robotics enthusiasts for our more advanced Robotics programs. The fee is $360.00 for half day and $410.00 for full day.
