Saturday, December 16 | 2 pm
Students in the St. Michael’s Country Day School Acting Workshop will present “It’s a Wonderful Life” on Friday, December 15 at 7pm and Saturday, December 16 at 2pm. Based on the movie by Frank Capra, the play is adapted and directed by Christina Johnston, with scenic design by Ellyn Eaves-Hileman.
A cast of actors in sixth through eighth grade, along with special appearances by a number of lower school students, will bring to life the classic tale of the frustrated George Bailey, who has given up his dreams in order to help others and believes that his life is of no importance. On Christmas Eve, he gives up hope and wishes he had never been born, but is saved by the intervention of his guardian angel, Clarence Oddbody. With Clarence’s help, George sees all the lives he has touched, and realizes how much of an impact he has had on his community. In the true spirit of the holiday season, friends and family all come together to help each other and celebrate the richness of their life.
The performances will take place in the Hill House Arts and Athletics Center on the school’s campus. Admission is free and open to the public. Donations to support the Theatre program are welcome. For more information please call 401-849-5970 ext. 330.
