CHESS MASTER CONNECTIONS returns partnering with St. Michael’s to offer a unique opportunity to learn, or, continue mastering, the game of chess. No matter what level you play, there is a place for you at our chess camp. We are thrilled to offer two separate weekly instructional sessions from local International Chess Master Jorge Sammour-Hasbun.  Jorge has experience teaching gifted children nationally for more than 15 years. His resume includes the Child World Champion title and the 2007 & 2008 World Blitz Champion title. Jorge and his partners are passionate about the game of chess and offer world-class chess instruction for the beginner to advanced player. Jorge states, “Chess camp will teach your child more than chess; your child will: increase logic and reasoning skills, improve decision making skills, develop problem solving skills, increase self confidence, develop analytical thinking skills, improve organizational habits and increase patience and persistence.” Chess Master Connections is committed to “teaching the fundamentals of chess and developing a clear connection to real life success.” Your child will feel the passion and power of chess!

Dance Beats (for children entering 2nd through 5th grade)
Session Dates:  July 31 – August 4th, $275.00/half day and $325/ full day by June 1st.

A fun week filled with dance, music, and making new friends! We will explore the excitement of movement while improving overall physical health. We will learn the constructs of a dance class: warming up, dancing across the floor, focusing, following direction, working in groups, and creating choreography. Introduction to several different types of dance will expand their creative horizons. It will also bring kids out of their comfort zone, in a non-competitive environment. This camp is a positive introduction to dance and will empower kids to shake what they were given!

Sewing for Fashion (for children entering grades: 2nd – 5th)
Session Dates:  July 24- July 28,  $275/half day or $325/full day.

Projects will accommodate both beginner and more advanced sewists, including the following: a ruffled skirt, design applique on a tee shirt, fabric and/or button necklaces and bracelets, hair accessories, infinity scarf and a cross body bag. We will cap off the week with a fashion show on the final day of camp. Weekly program runs 9:00 – 1:00 daily and include an option to swim daily.

Creative Movement: Dancing Stories (for children ages 4-6, half day only)
Session Dates: July 10 – July 14, $275/half day only

Led by Mrs. Revka, our amazingly talented and creative dance movement instruction. She will guide the children as the dance their way through well known children’s stories. Then, they will create their own dancing story and present their final dance on the last day of the camp.  Weekly program run 9:00 – 1:00 daily and includes an option to swim daily.
