ATHLETICS & PE

Sports and physical activity are an integral part of growing up. The St. Michael’s athletics program stresses the development of each child’s physical coordination, and works to instill in a healthy sense of teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play.

Middle School 5th graders have Physical Education as part of their curriculum.  Organized team sports begin in 6th grade, replacing the formal PE curriculum.

Grades 6 – 8 participate in a team sport most afternoons from 3:00 to 4:30 pm. Fifth graders can also elect to participate in the after-school sports program.

The Middle School sports season is a mixture of practice and scrimmages and games, both home and away, played against a number of area schools including Friends Academy, Gordon, Lincoln, Moses Brown, The Pennfield School, Providence Country Day, Rocky Hill, St. Philomena’s, and Wheeler, to name a few.
