Congratulations on taking the first step towards exploring options for your child’s educational setting! We look forward to guiding you through this process and to helping you learn more about the St. Michael’s community. Erin Schmidt, Director of Admissions, is readily available to make sure that the admissions process at St. Michael’s is easy, comfortable, and customizable to fit your needs..
1. Tour the School
Visit during one of Winter Admissions Events or with a personal 1:1 tour scheduled at your convenience with a focus on your own child’s passions and interests. Call 401-849-5970 ext 302 or email Erin Schmidt firstname.lastname@example.org anytime to schedule an appointment for a personal tour.
Once you have applied, it’s time to have your child spend time visiting our school and be part of the classroom experience. If possible, we prefer to have students visit for two days, back to back. This allows us to get to know your child and for the student to be comfortable in their new setting and with their peers.
Entering PreSchool: We will schedule weekend visit days for applicants (4 -6 at a time) in March/April. Please note: Children need to be 3 years old by September 1 to be considered for PreSchool.
Entering PK: Student visits with current PreSchool class for two consecutive days from 8:30 am – 11 am. Plan to pack a snack and a drink (no lunch) and weather appropriate clothes for going outside. Please note: Children need to be 4 years old by September 1 to be considered for PreKindergarten.
Student visits with current PreKindergarten class for two consecutive days 8:30 am -2:00 pm. Plan to pack a snack, a drink, and lunch, plus weather appropriate clothes for going outside. Please note: Children need to be 5 years old by September 1 to be considered for Kindergarten.
Entering Grade 1 – Grade 5:
Students will spend two days in the Lower School with their peer class. For instance, if your child is going to be entering Grade 3, they would spend their visit days with Grade 2. This way they can get to know the students who will be in their class and our teachers can evaluate the student in comparison with their age group. Even though Grade 5 is Middle School, students entering Grade 5 will visit with their peers in Grade 4. Plan to pack a snack, a drink, and lunch, plus weather appropriate clothes for going outside.
Entering Middle School:
We will pair your child with a “Buddy” for their two-day visit, making sure your child’s time at St. Michael’s will include a friend for recess and lunch, and that they have a built-in tour guide for their time on campus. .
4. Submit the remaining application documents, including:
